Welcome Home!

Welcome home alumni! We're so glad you found us here!
Read below for a welcome letter from our Camp Director, Lily Mercogliano!

Hello! I’m so excited you have decided to stay connected to Camp WA WA! As you know, camp is so much more than just a summer experience and we are proud to have a robust alumni community that is engaged all year long.

In addition to offering an awesome camp experience for youth ages 7 to 16, and for families of all ages, our alumni stay engaged at camp in many different ways. We are a diverse and welcoming community that celebrates the many incredible individuals that make up our camp circle.

Below are some details about alumni programming, and I hope you will be in touch with any questions or concerns. Use the contact form at the bottom of this page, or email info@smithpark.org. We love to hear from alumni!

Annual Alumni Opportunities

To stay up to date, make sure you are on our mailing list and follow us on social media!

Work Weekend Volunteers

Come for a day or weekend during the off-season and make camp possible by taking care of our facility! Work weekends are annually April-June and September-October. All types of skills are appreciated on these days! Lunch is always provided, and dinner too if we are sleeping over. These are amazing days for being outside, relaxing, and working with our hands.

Smith Park Board Volunteers

Our organization, Smith Park, is run by a volunteer board of directors. We have several committees that meet monthly and are always recruiting volunteers. To learn more, please visit our board page.

Alumni Donors

Monthly and sustaining donors are the true magic of WA WA. Alumni currently are the largest group to fund our scholarship and capital improvement programs. Additionally, alumni have created our Legacy Legends program that allows for the impact of your service to camp to be felt by our campers for decades to come.

Reunions, Tours & Rentals

Alumni reunions are held at camp every five years. The next reunion will be in 2028 and it will be our 100th celebration of camp on Harmon Pond! Make sure you are here!

Alumni tours are also available when we are able to accommodate them. Please contact us if you are going to be in the area so we can see what is possible.

Some alumni love to come back to camp for an extended period of time by renting camp! We offer rentals in June, August, and September. Please visit our rentals page to learn more.

About Me

I’ve been the Camp Director for the past seven years. I also grew up at Camp WA WA and worked at all levels of program staff roles until I graduated from college and started my career in teaching. This is a camp that I love deeply, and I’m happy to answer questions and concerns as you continue your journey at camp!

The easiest way to reach me is by emailing lily@smithpark.org and scheduling an appointment. We are a non-profit camp and are run by a team of volunteers. I’m full-time in the summer and live onsite; however in the off-season I’m part-time and my office hours are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Happy Camping!

Lily Mercogliano
